As a constituent in your district, I urge you to support the creation of a Water Protection and Reinvestment Trust Fund (H.R. 3202) to support and protect our public water systems.
Our water and wastewater infrastructure is in need of significant repair. The American Society of Civil Engineers has given both systems a D- and a recent news article highlighted the water challenges communities all over the country are facing.
For this reason, I support the creation of a Water Protection and Reinvestment Trust Fund that would provide a dedicated, firewalled, federal funding source to protect our essential water resources.
It is also essential that a trust fund only be used to support our public water systems and not to subsidize private water, whose priority may not be the local water needs of a community companies.
Sincerely,
-
